Dry
The dams are draining dangerously.
The creeks are sticks and stones.
The ground is brown and brittle.
The leaves die one by one.
The grass is just a memory.
The insects have all gone.
The wallabies are hungry.
The cows are skin and bone.
The bats are falling from the trees.
The koalas are nearly done.
The forest is a tinderbox.
The farmers feel alone.
The fear of fire is everywhere.
The water is trucked in.
The clouds form and blow away again.
The drought goes on and on.
